Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has dismissed NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga's recent tour of Kiambu county as "inconsequential."
In an opinion editorial published with the Star on Wednesday, the lawmaker argued that Raila's tour will not translate to votes, maintaining that region was firmly in Jubilee.
Kiambu county is President Uhuru Kenyatta's home turf.
"I want to say there is nothing to be worried about for Jubilee Party from the Odinga visit to Kiambu, or any of the Jubilee backyards," he said.
"The visit will hardly add him a vote in the August election because Raila, if anything, has lost most of his backyards, which have become Jubilee turf because of the development they have received from the national government. Raila has no development record," he added.
Kuria further hailed Kiambu locals for giving the ODM party leader a warm reception, arguing that it was a sign of political maturity.
