Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria now wants the National government to re-take health services from County governments amidst another doctor’s strike that commenced on Monday.
In his Sunday’s Facebook post, Kuria admitted that it was a terrible mistake to devolve health insisting that doctors were uncomfortable working with counties.
“It was terrible mistake to devolve health services and National government knows it. Governors quietly concede so and this is the truth everyone is talking about,” he said.
“Parliament also aware but all we have chosen is keeping silent about it. Health professionals abhor working in county governments. Those who work there prefer working in some cool counties bringing serious issues of equity and equitability,” he said.
He urged the Council of Governors to meet and sign an inter-governmental cooperation transferring all health services to the National government with immediate effect.
