Kenya Universities Staff Union (KUSU) has urged the government to embrace dialogue despite issuing a seven-day strike notice.
KUSU Secretary General Charles Mukhwaya has called on the national government to use the avenue and avert the looming strike.
KUSU in conjunction with the University Academic Staff Union on Thursday issued a seven-day strike notice over delayed talks with the government to harmonize salaries.
The union officials have claimed that they have been patient over the past year for the government to initiate the talks but all in vain.
The looming strike comes at a time when doctors industrial action has already paralyzed operations in public hospitals.
