Kwale deputy Governor Fatuma Achani has been kicked out of the Orange Democratic Movement after she declared to support Governor Salim Mvurya in the next general election.According to the Daily Nation, the move comes barely weeks after Achani said she would support Mvurya despite the governor decamping to Jubilee. The ODM coordinating committee in the county decided to throw out Achani alongside ODM Ukunda sub-branch secretary Joseph Odeka for allegedly betraying the movement. Achani has initially claimed that she was ready to replace Mvurya. Speaking to journalists after holding a closed-door meeting at Last Moran Restaurant in Ukunda, Kwale Matuga MP and county ODM chairman Hassan Mwanyo said the movement was not going to keep defectors any more. Mwanyo also pointed out that the committee would not hesitate to kick out any member who will follow the footsteps of the two officials before the next general elections.“We have decided to kick out Ms Achani so that she follows the path of her fellow rebel who is none other than Governor Mvurya and also Odeka for misbehaving,” he said, as quoted by the Daily Nation. He also said that the movement was going to scrutinise all the party members and kick out Jubilee moles. “We resolved as a party that we are going to conduct a thorough scrutiny of leaders before the general election in order to ensure that we have the right candidates,” he said.
