Kinango MP Gonzi Rai has told NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga to be prepared for a bruising battle in the race for 281,041 votes in Kwale County.

Traditionally considered an opposition zone, the Jubilee leadership is keen to change the tide this time round.

Speaking in Matuga on Tuesday, Rai who is a veteran in the county politics said that the President will get a better return during the August 8 elections.

“As Kwale residents, we will do the best we can to ensure that President Uhuru Kenyatta gets majority of the votes in Kwale County. This is no longer an opposition zone as some leaders have been made to believe,” Rai said.

While asking the locals to shun the opposition during the August 8 polls, the lawmaker claimed that the Raila Odinga-led outfit has nothing to offer and that only Jubilee has demonstrated that it’s capable of delivering to the promises made.

Rai’s sentiment was backed by Women Rep. Zainabu Chidzuga who said that under Jubilee, the county has realized meaningful development.
