Residents in Kinango, Kwale County have criticized the Jubilee government, accusing it of sidelining them. The residents have vowed to support NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga in the October 26 presidential rematch.Speaking in Samburu on Sunday, the residents, led by ODM activist Ngowa Bengowa said they have not benefited from the Jubilee government despite various projects being launched in the Coast region.Bengowa said they will not support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election bid because the Jubilee administration has not initiated any project in the constituency aimed at improving their living standards. He said though they were promised improved infrastructure, health care and other goodies, none of the projects have been initiated.“We voted for Raila in the August 8 general elections and we will do the same even if the repeat poll will be held in January next year,” said Bengowa. The ODM activist appealed to Kinango resident not to be ‘deceived by Jubilee's empty promises’ arguing that the government has failed in solving critical problems in the region such as the emotive land issue.“We only see few title deeds being distributed during elections only to net us in their political games. We want the land issue in the Coast region solved,” added Bengowa. On his part, Samburu-Chengoni Ward ODM youth activist Jafar Rai urged his fellow youth not to allow politicians to misuse them.He claimed that the empty promises given by the Jubilee administration have made the constituency lag behind in terms of development, adding that residents should vote for NASA leader Raila Odinga.“We sent Kinango MP Samuel Gonzi Rai of Jubilee home and replaced him with ODM’s Kazungu Tayari. We are going to do the same with President Uhuru Kenyatta,” said Rai.
