Kwale Woman Representative Zuleikha Juma has now accused leaders fueling the Ruto’s presidential ambition at the Coast as traitors.

The lawmaker wants the leaders punished for what she terms as disloyalty to the political outfit. The legislator has also said that it is disrespect to their party leader Raila Amolo Odinga for the leaders to back his rival.

“When the electorates voted you in, they knew they are voting you in that party to stay. If you did not want to follow the party, you should have vied as an independent candidate,” she said.

Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori has, however, dismissed Ms Juma’s call for their punishment. Dori maintains that their support for Ruto is for the good of their people. He also said that Ruto has interests of the Coast residents at heart, adding that they need to stand with him to change their lives.

“We support William Ruto not for our own gain but for the benefit of our people," he said.

Kinango MP Benjamin Tayari and his Matuga counterpart Kassim Tandaza backed Dori’s sentiments.
