National Assembly Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso has maintained that she will not stop defending Deputy President William Ruto and the Jubilee adminstration despite being labeled "a sycophant" by Bomet governor Isaac Ruto.
Speaking over the weekend in her backyard, the lawmaker insisted that she will not back off from supporting the DP, adding that governor Ruto's constant onslaught against her was out of panick and sense of defeat.
“Rutto might call us whatever he wants, but we shall not be cowed or relent from supporting our son…He is the country’s second in command and besides that, he is our son. Why should we go against him? Why should we not support him?” she posed.
“We better be sycophants of a performer than of someone who is always out to sabotage and oppose development projects being rolled out for the benefit of his people…Name-calling won’t stop us from supporting the DP," she added.
The Sotik MP is seeking to unseat governor Rutto on a Jubilee Party ticket during the forthcoming general elections.
