National Assembly Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso is the winner of the Jubilee gubernatorial primaries that were conducted, Monday, in Bomet county.
The Sotik Member of Parliament was declared the winner after garnering 115,289 against her political rival Julius Kones who got 72,500 votes.
Having secured the Jubilee ticket, she will now face off with incumbent governor Isaac Rutto of Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party.
Rutto broke ranks with Jubilee leadership and formed his own party, and has now joined the National Super Alliance as the fifth principal.
A recent poll conducted by infotrak Research company indicated that Rutto was the most preferred candidate for the gubernatorial race and was followed very closely by Laboso while Kones came in, in the third position.
