Sotik MP Joyce Laboso and former Konoin MP Julius Kones have rubbished an opinion poll conducted by survey firm Infotrak that showed that Bomet governor Isaac Rutto was still the most preferred candidate ahead of the August polls.
The two are seeking to unseat the outspoken governor on a Jubilee Party ticket.
In the poll survey released on Wednesday, Governor Rutto would get 38.9 per cent of the vote, Joyce Laboso polled at 37.6 per cent, while Kones was a distant third at 7.3 per cent.
Speaking on Thursday, Kones said Jubilee Party was the most popular party in the South Rift region, and therefore it was impossiblefor governor Rutto to have an edge over Jubilee candidates.
“We all know this will be a purely Jubilee affair and come the D-day we shall face off with our competitors and prove our worth,” he said.
Laboso, on her part exuded confidence that she would win the Jubilee Party ticket, maintaining that she was the best suited candidate.
Governor Rutto is seeking re-election on his Chama Cha Mashinani Party.
