It has emerged that most youths lack school leaving certificates as well as birth certificates which are crucial in Identification cards registration.
Speaking in Kivumbini ward, Nakuru East on Wednesday during an ID registration exercise, Kivumbini chief Jane Muthoni noted that the documents are crucial in the registration exercise but youths lack.
"We were here from 9 and most youths have come with complains that they lack school leaving certificates as well as birth certificates which is a challenge since we have to establish the exact birth dates of individuals,"said chief Muthoni.
She also noted that despite the government trying to appeal for ID registration nationwide, majority still don't have the documents.
The chief appealed to those who don't have IDs to use the opportunity and apply for the document.
"I would like to appeal to all those who don't have IDs to ensure they take advantage of this exercise and get them," said Chief Muthoni.
Her sentiments were echoed by Kivumbini community leader Neto Sakwa who called on the government to ensure that there is easier way of getting the required documents.
