Incumbent leaders from Kisii County are likely to face challenges ahead of the general election for lack of competence.
According to the residents interviewed by this writer on Thursday, they said that the leaders have failed to deliver as they expected much during devolution.
Mogaka Mochoge a resident from Tombe said they expected much to be done under the two levels of government but the leaders have been accusing each other through their coalitions.
“When we elected our leaders under the new constitution, we expected much from them more so in terms of development, unfortunately for 4 years they have been discussing their political parties forgetting their mandate of development,” said Mochoge.
For instance, he said nothing has been done in Kitutu Masaba from the county government as the leaders sidelined it.
Mong'ina Moraa also said that the leaders have never been discussing development and even taking motions to parliament in which will benefit residents but only campaign for their parties.
“We need to change the leadership of this country by electing able leaders who will be able to know time and season of development and politics,” said Moraa.
“Before we elect them they came with many promises but when we elected them they easily forget,” she added
