Kisii County governor James Ongwae has said that lack of funds is to blame for the stalled projects in the county.
The ODM governor said projects such as avocado factory have stalled because there are no funds to start the construction of the factory.
“Without funds, no development can be realized by either the national or county government. Construction of avocado factory has stalled for years now because there are no funds to start its construction as we expected,” he said.
He called on Kisii residents to be patient so that the county government can look for donors to give financial support for the construction of the avocado factory to start.
Governor Ongwae asked local politicians to stop spreading propaganda and tainting the name of the county government especially on the stalled projects which the county is yet to start.
“I wish to urge local politicians to stop attacking us because there are some projects which are stalling. We are committed to ensuring that we get funds for the stalled projects to start,” he said.
