Kisii County Assembly for the second day on Wednesday boycotted sittings demanding to be paid their allowances before resuming assembly proceedings.
The Assembly has been in recess for two weeks and they were to return on Tuesday to discuss house matters including approving of the executive budget.
The speaker of the Assembly Ondieki Okerosi was forced to adjourn sittings of the house on Wednesday morning to the afternoon when they lacked a quorum.
There was no difference in the afternoon when only 17 members of county assembly arrived in the assembly which is below the thresh-hold.
According to the constitutional provision, house business can only continue if the there is at least half the number of assembly members. They missed 6 more members to continue with the business of the house.
The sittings are likely to continue today morning when members are expected to changed their stand to discuss the budgetary bill that is getting late for approval to allow the count y run its programmes effectively.
“We will adjourn to Thursday morning so that we see whether there will be a quorum to continue with the proceedings,” said speaker Okerosi on Wednesday evening.
