Kisumu Nominated County Executive Committee Members (CeCs) will be compelled to wait a little longer before knowing their fate after the local County Assembly failed to table their names on Wednesday.

Early Wednesday morning, Kisumu Members of County Assemblies were set to examine the names that were vetted two weeks ago and make a verdict but most of the MCAs snubbed the forum hence causing lack of quorum necessary to deliberate on critical issues.

The speaker, Onyango Oloo adjourned the house scheduling it to later Wednesday afternoon but was prompted to adjourn it again after MCAs present unanimously agreed to push it to Thursday following a power outage that hit Kisumu City for the great part of the afternoon.

Speaker Oloo revealed that the house has 35 elected MCAs, 13 nominated MCAs adding that for for proceedings to go on, at least 16 MCA’s must be present for the quorum to be met.

Female MCAs however raised a concern on the whereabouts of their male counterparts as Joachim Oketch, Kondele ward MCA was the only one present among a host of ten female MCA’s.

Among the CeCs nominated by Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o awaiting to know whether the house will agree to have them hired or rejected are Richard Ogendo (Economic Planning and Development), Salmon Orimba (Environment, Water, Irrigation and Natural resources)and Gilchrist Okuom (Food Security and Livestock).
