The 3rd Annual Ladies Leadership and Accountability Conference has officially been opened in Mombasa.
Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu opened the conference on Wednesday which was converged under the umbrella of Association of Women Accountants of Kenya (AWAK).
AWAK is a non-political and non-profit making professional women accountants’ organisation which is governed by a board of 12 elected members.
The organisation enjoys support from Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examination Board (KASNEB).
Mwilu opened the event two days after representing Chief Justice David Maraga at the Post-Election Seminar for members of the National Assembly, where she urged members to strive to understand the concept of judicial review.
She said this would minimize conflicts between the two arms of government - Parliament and Judiciary, adding that no arm of government holds a position superior to the terms of the law.
The seminar officially kicked off at the Pride Inn Paradise Hotel in Mombasa.
