A 21-year old girl is in police custody after she stubbed her 23-year old boyfriend to death in Kamukunji estate in Eldoret town.
Confirming the incident, Eldoret police OCPD Mutunga Samuel stated the young couple had been heard quarreling by neighbours.
"We have in custody a lady by the name Jane Nzisa who is alleged to have stubbed her boyfriend Paul Gateru three times on the chest after which he succumbed to the deep stubs," said Mutunga.
According to the neighbours, the couple have been together for almost three years and were mostly seen together in the man's house.
"They are a young couple who are always seen together but on Monday night I heard them arguing loudly then knew something was wrong, when the boy screamed like he was in pain," said Peter, a neighbour.
The main issue that resulted to the fatal fight has not yet been established, but roumers has it that the girlfriend had suspected the boy of cheating on her.
The police have however confirmed the body of the deceased was taken to Moi Referral Hospital mortuary.
The young girl is expected to be arraigned in court on Wednesday morning.
