Residents of Lagdera, in Garissa County have been urged to stop erecting speed-bumps along roads.
Motorists plying the route claim that the locals have a tendency of constructing speed-bumps along the road, something that has turned tragic to some of them.
The locals on the other hand accused the motorists of over-speeding, risking the lives of their children and animals.
“These motorists have a habit of over-speeding endangering the lives of our children and that of our animals. We have had cases of hit and run away motorists. We don’t want to take chances with the lives of our children,” Says Nasra Ishmael.
The motorists faulted the locals saying this endangers the lives of motorists.
“We want to urge the locals to stop erecting bumps along the roads. Some of them turn out disastrous since we are used to the clear way. I almost rolled someday when I ran into one,” says Yusuf Haji.
“You can imagine when you are driving at 90km/h then you bump into one unknowingly. This can turn out to be very disastrous,” says Evans Kasanga.
They are now appealing to NTSA to crack down on these 'rogue' speed bumps.
