Students of Laikipia University in Nyahururu town were left in rude shock after one of their colleague was found dead in his hostel room.
According to the standard, the body of the student was discovered by a security guard who had broken into the room with the help of other students.
"The father of the deceased reported that he was unable to reach him via phone calls something that led them (students and security guard) to break through into the room and found him dead," reports the standard.
Nyandarua North OCPD Timon Odingo told the standard that several Malaria tablets were found on a stool next to the student's bed.
"The students could have died from a serious Malaria attack," Odingo said.
Police took his body to the Nyahururu District Hospital mortuary as investigations starts to determine the cause of his death.
