[Photo|Amazing Kisumu]A misunderstanding ensued between passengers and staff of the Guardian Angel bus in Kisumu a day after the government banned night travel for long distance PSVs.Through the NTSA and Traffic Department, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure banned ferrying of passengers during the night following a fatal road accident at Migaa area, Nakuru county.The December 31, 3 am accident involving a Nairobi Bus Cooperation PSV and a trailer left at least 36 people dead and several others seriously injured.On January 1, passengers who had booked to travel on December 31 night arrived at the Guardian Angel bus booking office at the Kisumu bus park.They were asked to wait for a while only to be told to enter Nyamira Express buses that arrived shortly after, prompting uproar from the passengers.They wondered why they were being booked into vehicles from a different company despite paying for vehicles from the Guardian Angel bus company.A staff from the Guardian Angel bus booking office said the decision was reached so as not to disappoint the passengers after the night travel ban caught them unaware. All of their vehicles had ferried passengers to Nairobi.He said they had to reschedule all night travel bookings booked before the ban came about, affecting some of the passengers.
