Security agents in Lamu have warned the youths who carry around crude weapons including fighting sticks, knives and swords that they will be arrested and charged.

This comes in the wake of increased insecurity in Lamu mostly characterized by knife stabbings among youth.

In a latest incident, a form three student was injured during a fight with another student at Uwiyoni secondary school.

The victim identified as Lennox Charles is currently admitted at Langoni nursing home after he was stabbed on the left side of the neck.

 Lamu OCPD Zachary Kimani confirmed the incident and warned the youths against fighting each other.

He said the victim sustained injuries as he was trying to defend himself.

Kimani said the assailant also had injuries to his left ear.

Lamu county commissioner Gilbert Kitiyo said that security officers will apprehend youths found carrying crude weapons.

Kitiyo said areas like  Uwiyoni, Kashmir and Langoni are worst hit with petty crimes.
