Lamu NASA supporters and Wiper deputy leader Shakilla Abdalla have lauded the act by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioner, Roselyn Akombe to resign from the board.
Akombe cited the commission not being able to conduct credible election on her resignation statement on Wednesday morning.
Speaking at a rally in Lamu, Former Lamu women representative, Shakilla, praised her move terming it as bold and appropriate.
She called upon the IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba to follow the footsteps of Roselyn and resign from his seat so as to retain his dignity.
She also told him to listen to the Kenyan voices who called for his resignation.
The outspoken woman condemned the IEBC terming it as rotten and said it should be disbanded with immediate effect.
“No reforms, no elections. We thank God for the revelations of commissioner Akombe, they couldn’t have come at a better time. That’s the last nail in the coffin to prove that the IEBC is a mistake which Kenyans shouldn’t live with,” she said as quoted by Baraka FM.

Locals applauded Akombe’s last minute actions saying it was an indication of her goodwill to the nation.
They further said the move was a relief to all the NASA supporters and a sign for the need of change in the commission.
