Area chief Henry Mirera has warned all land brokers dealing in illegal land sales in the area to stop the deals or risk legal action for contributing to crime in the area.

Speaking during a public baraza at Nyakegogi shopping centre in his location, Mirera warned against the sale of family land without consent from other family members and declared such land sales illegal.

Mirera threatened to petition the lands office to revoke all title deeds which did not follow the due process of the law saying such sales had contributed to conflicts and disputes in families as other family members raised questions about the land sale procedures where they were not involved.

He said it was important for those selling part of their ancestral parcels of land to involve all their kin to avert conflicts which in some cases turn tragic where the family members go for their kin's blood over land disagreements.

The administrator warned his assistant chiefs against approving the sale of land whose family members were not involved in the process as it will lead to conflicts among the parties.
