Kisii South Sub County assistant commissioner Kipkoech Kigen has warned land cartels in the region against forcing locals to sell their land.
Speaking during the burial of Pastor Esther Bochaberi, Mr Kigen said that land cartels in the county will be brought to book.
"We all know what led to the death of the pastor, cartels in the region are advised to be very keen otherwise they will blame themselves," he said.
He also advised those selling land that they should engage in such business with people they know.
"Strangers buying land in the region should be investigated before transactions are made. That way we shall control the menace," he said.
He also asked Kisii County land registrar Steve Mogaka to ensure that all land transactions are legitimate.
