A private developer was on Tuesday evicted from a land said to belong to Ndumberi Polytechnic.
The developer was allegedly putting a private school which was also demolished by the Kiambu department of education.
Dominic Gicheru, the Kiambu County Officer in charge of Public Service and Administration told journalists at the site that they will not tolerate cases of land grabbing in the county.
"Everybody who knows that he has taken public land should surrender it immediately because we shall take it by force and prosecute them just as we have done here. Public property will remain that way," said Gicheru.
Speaking at the same time, Anne Gichohi, an officer from Kiambu County Education Department said that they had asked the developer to vacate the land several times.
"We gave him a notice to vacate when he started erecting structures to no avail. He had taken the land together with a workshop where our youth come to train mechanics," she said.
Gichohi revealed that the land was grabbed during the reign of the local Kiambu County Council where the council had cautioned him against grabbing it but he proceeded and took the property.
