A team from Mombasa county government toured Likoni sub-county in an assessment of county projects.
Led by Deputy Governor Dr William Kingi, and area MP Mishi Mboko, they also addressed land grabbing cases and illegal encroachment on public land by private developers.
The people of Timbwani ward have been grumbling over the propensity of land grabbing in the area by unknown developers who are erecting illegal structures to the chagrin of the people.
The developers are forcefully acquiring acres of public land, committing criminal acts of trespass and assault in the process.
"As a government we shall not sit pretty as these grabbers deprive our citizens the right to development. By encroaching on public land, these individuals take up space set aside for development projects by the County government within the sub county," said Kingi.
"We shall not allow these land grabbers to deter us from delivering on our promises, we shall not condone illegal structures on public land, we shall as well not hesitate to bring down any illegal structures on public land in accordance with the law," he added, on Tuesday.
