A landlord in Jogoo, Kisii County has shocked residents after he gave a vacation notice to all single ladies and gentlemen living in his apartment.
Mr Makori is said to have gone to every room in his apartment last month as he asked the singles to vacate.
"None of them could understand why he was doing that as they all wondered what was the relationship between paying rent and marriage certificates," said James Kambi a local.
However, in his argument Mr Makori said that he was disturbed by how young ladies living in his apartment were hosting different men in their houses.
He argued that even men were doing the same making him worry about their lives.
"I nolonger need single men or ladies in this plot. I am tired with how they keep on exchanging lovers almost on daily basis," he said.
However, the tenants were shocked on Thursday evening when the landlord went door to door asking each of them to show him their marriage certificates.
"He came around asking us to provide the document and those who did not have it were asked to vacate in a week's time," said Mary Moraa.
She added that they had no plans to vacate the houses saying that she knew her rights.
However, Hivisasa witnessed as some of the tenants were vacating from the house.
