A landlord and a resident yesterday evening shocked the entire estate in Ronda when they engaged in a fight in public leaving the landlord with minor injuries on his face

The landlord Njuguna Mwangi, a retired civil savant in Nakuru town, could not believe his eyes when a man who stays in his plot fought him in public.

Mwangi claimed that the man James Onyango, a bodaboda operator, had failed to pay his rent for the last four months without any reason and accused him of being arrogant and abusive whenever he is told to pay up.

"When this man is urged to pay the rent he abuses me and my wife," said Mwangi.

H e said he has put padlocks on Onyango's door severally but when he comes back he cuts his way in. 

Yesterday evening, Mwangi went to Onyango's house with an aim of collecting the rent but this turned into a fight after he started to abuse him.

According to eye witness Rosemary Mburu, the tenant started pushing the landlord and in his defence, Mr Mwangi slapped him thus heated up the moment.

Kinungi East location Chief Samson Njeru said he will do everything possible to see the man behind bars

"I will make sure the man is behind bars and charged in court for assault," he said

The chief advised landlords to vet people before they allow them into their houses.
