Through a circular signed by her, the county government indicates that it has come up with a zoning report that will guide the subdivision of land in the county. The report will be incorporated in the county spatial development process later.

“I regret the heartache the first circular caused to the MCAs and members of the public. That is why this one invites them to submit their division schemes to my office for processing,” she said.

MCAs led by Esther Mengere-Nominated, Kabazi Ward’s Mwangi Waithaka and Wanyoike Wanango from Lakeview welcomed the move saying that the initial circular was issued in bad faith and it would deny small income earners a chance to own land.

The circular was one of the subjects listed in a motion that seeks to have the executive member removed from office.

Last week, the motion mover Stephen Muiruri Kuria (Biashara ward rep-Nakuru) had accused Maina of incompetence, violation of the constitution and abuse of office.

In a special sitting held today, the motion was withdrawn to allow Kuria to add more issues pertaining to Maina’s performance before it can be re-introduced in the house by him or another member.
