The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development will set up an office in Nakuru County to complement efforts by the county’s Lands ministry.
According to Permanent Secretary in the ministry Mariam El Maawy, the office will address land wrangles that have been in different part of Nakuru County.
She spoke during a meeting with Nakuru Deputy Governor Joseph Ruto in his office on Monday.
The PS noted that they will offer technical support to the county’s lands department in the effort to address several land tussles within the county.
“My team will set camp here and complement efforts in the county lands ministry in terms of technical support while we try as much as we can to find lasting solutions to land wrangles that have been experienced in this area,” she said.
On his part, Ruto welcomed the PS and her team and said that their support was highly welcome.
“We welcome you to Nakuru and we sincerely hope that we ca find a one-off lasting solution to various land issues we have in this County,” he said.
Molo MP Jacob Macharia, Naivasha MP John Kihagi and Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri had also attended the meeting.
