A leading farmer has been summoned by the parliamentary committee on lands over the controversial ownership of Kihoto farm in Naivasha.
The house committee said that the farmer, Gordon Miller, is a key witness in the contested land and he is expected to provide evidence and explain how he was able to acquire hundreds of acres of land for his business.
The committee toured the controversial land in Naivasha following a petition to parliament.
Most of the farm's shareholders hail from Gatanga and Kandara constituencies in Murang’a county and are reported to have bought the land in 1981 through proceeds from coffee.
The committee’s acting chairman Paul Otuoma vowed to solve the tussle soon so that owner would benefit from it.
“This is a very simple issue, we need to summon Miller and any other person who we feel has critical evidence regarding this matter and once that is done we will give our verdict in 30 days,” the Funyula MP said.
