Nakuru’s Langa Langa Chief George Ng’ng’a has warned brewers and distributors of illicit brew saying they will be arrested and charged in court.
Addressing a public baraza on Tuesday, the Chief warned that such people will be dealt with accordingly. He acknowledged that illicit brewing still remains a big challenge in the area noting that security officials will crack down on the brewers and distributors of the same.
“Illicit brewers in the area should know that we are monitoring and soon we will crackdown on them,” warned Ng’ang’a adding that illicit brewing and alcohol abuse has seen many families destroyed.
He asked the public to support efforts being implemented to wipe out illicit brews. The Chief said that every citizen has a responsibility to contribute on implementation of policies meant to fight crime and other issues facing the society.
The Langa Langa administrator also warned young people against being lured into alcoholism. He observed that many youths are being lured into drug abuse.
Nga’ng’a warned that no one will be spared in the fight against illicit brewing and drug abuse adding that the law will take its course especially on criminals and lawbreakers.
The Chief asked the area youths to shun crime and take part in activities that will foster development. He added that the current society does not tolerate laziness and that young people should be active and better their lives.
