Langas estate in the outskirts of Eldoret town has been termed as the home to all criminal elements operating within Uasin Gishu county.
According to Turbo Deputy County Commissioner Gideon Ombongi, most of the goods stolen during criminal activities are hidden in the estate that is the biggest informal settlement in Eldoret town.
He called for concerted efforts among security agencies within the county to help deal with the criminals in the area.
Langas Estate is located in Kapseret sub-county.
"We need to work together as security agencies in sub-counties if we have to win this war against criminals," said Ombongi during Mashujaa Day celebrations at the 64 Stadium.
"Langas has been turned into a haven for criminals as all things stolen in the county always find their way into that estate," he added.
In response to the issue, the county commissioner said the security agencies will mount an operation in the estate with an aim of flashing out the criminals.
"We shall turn Langas estate upside down. We will go house to house until we get rid of all those illegal brews, firearms and the stolen goods," Hassan said.
