[Photo|Generali Nixon Korir]Lang'ata MP Nixon Korir was forced to intervene after uncertainty engulfed St. Mary’s Hospital Langa'ta on Thursday morning. The Assumption of Sisters, Nairobi attempted to evict the old hospital management and staff over ownership and management row.A subordinate staff said the nuns forcefully gained entry into the hospital accompanied by plain cloth and uniformed police officers, ordering the old staff to immediately vacate the premises. The old staff lamented that the team which came at 5 am, was so arrogant and rendered operations paralysed, a move that left patients unattended. An auctioneer who addressed journalists said they were acting on a court order. The move followed an Environment and Land Court order issued on September 28, 2017 by Judge Munyao Sila which gave The Assumption of Sisters, Nairobi the go ahead to seize the hospital management from American Missionary, William Charles Fryda, who was the initial manager of the facility.“The 2nd defendant (nuns) and/or its appointed agents/employees are granted authority to break into and gain forceful entry into L.R NO 27228 AND 22729 located in Lang'ata Nairobi," said the judge. However, the MP arrived at the facility with area police boss and called for calm.Korir agreed with the Priest who has been running the facility and the Catholic sisters who have been given a court order to take over the management that they should solve their differences without affecting staff or patients."We have agreed that as they resolve their issues and change management, they should be mindful of the patients who use the facility and the Innocent employees to ensure the operation run smoothly," he told the press at the facility.
