Africa Logistics Properties is set to build one of the largest warehouses in Africa, with the construction set to start soon.
The project, which will be built in Tatu City, is set to offer a total floor space of 50,000 square metres in three units available to the rental occupier market.
According to Toby Selman, Company CEO, the facility will be the largest in the country, and will offer modern services.
“Our vision is to fundamentally improve supply chain infrastructure in Africa and disrupt the current status quo of poor ‘godown’ warehousing,” said Selman as quoted by MyGov newspaper.
The project is set to be a major employment source, with more than 2,000 set to be employed during the construction, and up to 5,000 to get permanent jobs once it is complete.
He maintained that they chose to do business with Kenya as they believe it is the next economic giant in the region.
“Kenya is preferred because of its strategic position which is a gateway to the whole of Eastern Africa, the modern infrastructure and business friendly policies,” he added.
The company is set to venture more into the new technology, which will be an added feature on the local storage facilities.
