Lari Sub County deputy commander Joseph Ndung’u has vowed to deal with criminal elements during and after the festive season.

Speaking to the press at his office today, the commander said that police will not hesitate to arrest those found contravening the law.

He said that police are well prepared to deal with anyperson planning to cause problems.

“We have put in place adequate mechanisms to ensure that people’s security is boosted,” said Ndung’u.

The commander asked chies and their assistants to be on the alert and reprort any threats.

He warned criminals saying that their days are over if they fail to surrender themselves to the police.

Ndung’u at the same time warned against illicitn brew makers and drinkers saying they will be arrested.

The commander said that a crackdown on illicit brewers will be intesified this festive season. “Some people take advantage of the holiday to make illicit brew, we want to warn them against  brewing the alcohol,” he emphasised.

The commander also warned revellers who drink and start insulting the public and cause nuisance.

He said that such individuals will be arrested and charges opened against them in court.
