Lari Sub county leaders have criticised Kiambu Governor William Kabogo, over the issue of accountability to county funds and lack of major developments in the county.
Speaking on Monday at Lari Primary school during the Mashujaa Day celebrations, the area MP Mburu Kahangara, asked the governor to motivate the economy of the county so as to earn income and revenue, instead of depending on the national government’s money.
The MP further asked the governor to heed senate summons, so that the frozen county funds can be set free for county use.
Speaking during the same event, Head of Commerce and Industries in Kiambu County Dr Thingori Warauthe, echoed same sentiments, saying that the governor must be objective
“Let him stop going to media stations to speak ill and abusing leaders, because the media is not the senate, all we want is for him to respond to senate and account for Kiambu funds,” said Waruathe.
He has now threatened to move court to sue the governor for not accounting for the county funds in the senate, saying that the county cannot be denied funds because of his stand.
The Lari legislator further called on residents to unite and work towards developing the area, saying the referendum talk is a waste of time and resources since parliament has the mandate and power to increase money in the counties without a referendum.
