The Police boss said that two abduction cases have been reported in a span of one week.

Speaking on Tuesday in Lari, Makoma said that law enforcers will not tolerate abductors and that necessary measures have been put in place to curb abductions.

He cited one case in Kinale where two girls were reportedly abducted last week.

Makoma said that although the girls were rescued, a search for the abductors has been launched.

“Abductors who think they can come and abduct children and walk away free are in for a rude shock. We will hunt them down,” he said.

Makoma intimated that security surveillance has been beefed up in different estates in the area.

He said that police will be conducting 24 hour patrols to smoke out abductors and other criminals.

The Police boss said that police are holding two suspects in connection to the Kinale abductions.

Makoma asked parents and guardians to closely monitor the activities and movements of their teenage children.

He said that abductors have taken advantage of negligence by parents to abduct children and later demand for ransom.

Makoma also asked parents to report cases of kidnappings immediately to help the police launch investigations on time.
