Lari police boss has urged police officers in the sub-county to further their studies so as to improve their skills.

Speaking on Monday at Community Policing grounds in Lari, Alfred Makoma challenged the officers to advance their studies saying that their work requires skills.

He noted that police officers face new challenges everyday and that it would be better if they furthered their education.

The Police boss urged the government and other partners to help police officers enroll for further education.

“With the new environment and things we experience daily, there is great need for us to enroll for further studies,” he said.

The Police boss added that they are confronted with challenging situations that need critical thinking.

Makoma said that though the police force is sponsoring some of their training, there is need for more such training especially in key areas.

At the same time, Makoma urged police officers within Lari to dedicate themselves to their work and also exercise discipline.

He said that as law enforcers they have a huge responsibility of protecting citizens.

Makoma said that they are determined to keep law and order and called for public support.

“Members of the public should support us on our quest to streamline security,” added Makoma.
