Lari MP Mburu Kahangara has urged security agencies in the sub-county to remain on alert and work towards providing security to the people.

Speaking at Kimende shopping center yesterday, the MP said that police have a responsibility of providing security.

He urged the men and women in uniform to deal with criminals’ elements and assure safety of residents and businessmen.

“I urge law enforcers across Lari sub-county to up their game and intensify security patrols for the sake of providing security to the people,” he said.

The MP was reacting to claims of rise insecurity in some Wards in the sub-county.

Kahangara noted that locals have a right to security, adding that the government must invest more in security to deal with frequent attacks and scares.

Meanwhile, the MP said that construction of a foot bridge at the Lari-kimende junction has been given a go-ahead by the Deputy President William Ruto.

Kahangara said that the national government will work with the Kiambu government to have the foot bridge constructed immediately.
