Despite becoming orphaned at the age of 14 when he lost both his parents, TV personality Larry Madowo has beaten all odds to establish himself in the media industry.
Speaking to the African Voices on CNN, Madowo said that he faced a lot of challenges in his childhood as he waded through books for excellence.
He said only a resolute spirit was his biggest weapon to success.
‘’I grew up with little privilege, my earliest memories are not having the things other kids had. I would go to school and hear the other kids talk about what their dads and their moms did and I didn’t have that,’’ Madowo said.
The TV journalist works with Kenya's NTV as an Anchor and Technology Editor and has been praised for being behind the success of The Trend show.
Madowo also writes a Tuesday column in the Daily Nation titled #FrontRow.
