Thursday’s elections hang in the balance, after three voters moved to the Supreme Court to stop the repeat polls.

The three; Mr Khalef Khalifa, Mr Samuel Mohochi and Mr Gacheke Gachuhi argue that the electoral commission cannot put together a fair and credible election.

Their claims come a week after IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati said he cannot guarantee the country a free poll, owing to the current political situation.

The commission is a divided lot, with this evident in a recent admission by the former commissioner Roselyn Akombe.

Akombe resigned last week, saying there was a lot of interference from the politicians, meaning they could not perform their duties as expected.

Also the three petitioners; who are represented by Harun Ndubi, want the court to break down Raila Odinga’s withdrawal, and what it will mean to the repeat polls.

The three argue that Odinga, having pulled out of the polls, should render the elections canceled.

They further feel the polls might be risking lives of many Kenyans, considering it might not be held in many counties.

The three have been ordered to serve parties by 6pm today, Tuesday.
