The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has announced that the new round of voter registration begins next week.
Consequently, politicians from both the government and opposition have called on their supporters to register as voters in prepartion for the August polls.
The opposition, for in stance, has postponed its planned mass action to protest contentious election laws,kbctv.co.ke reports.
On the other hand, Jubilee are asking their supporters not to take any chances.
In their call, the opposition said the win in the August polls lies in the numbers of their supporters who will participate in the elections.
But Jubilee is also keen on next week’s voter listing exercise.
Deputy President William Ruto has tasked Jubilee elected leaders as well as aspirants with ensuring that the 1.6 million unregistered voters in Jubilee strongholds are enrolled when a fresh round of voter listing begins Monday.
