Former Kitutu Masaba MP Abuya Abuya now claims the late Homa Bay Senator Otieno Kajwang’ was right to label embattled Budalang'i MP a 'Jubilee mole’.
Kajwang had resisted the election of Ababu as the ODM secretary general before the botched infamous Kasarani elections, claiming he was a Jubilee mole. Ababu refuted the allegations.
And now Abuya has backed Kajwang’s sentiments citing the recent squabbles in the ODM involving Ababu and a section of western Kenya leaders.
“Some leaders have power to see an event coming. Sometimes back I condemned Kajwang for labelling a vibrant youth like Ababu a mole, but I am glad I have seen the prophecy come to pass before I die,” he said jokingly.
“I have tried to ascertain why Ababu could resign as the ODM secretary general; I can’t yet find a substantive reason other than pressure from Jubilee government. He must have been working with Jubilee because someone cannot change a heart suddenly,” he said.
Abuya added: “he was appointed by Raila as Cabinet minister and a host of his colleagues from western and the issue of marginalisation should not arise”.
He insisted the party was right to neutralize the secretary General position saying the Budalangi MP could have used it to wretch the party from within.
”It’s good that Kajwang’s statements were taken seriously by the party leader. The creation of political affairs and election directors in ODM neutralised the SG post because after all, Ababu could have wretched the party,” he said.
