The protest had been planned to start on February 12, to February 16, 2018.

They aimed at using means such as litigation and Yellow Ribbon Memorandum to express their disappointment in contempt of court by the government.

Yellow Ribbon has been used to communicate different messages since the 20th Century, for the lawyers, it was meant to show resistance or opposition of government.

This could strengthen the National Resistance Movement's (NRM) agenda of resisting the government.

LSK President Isaac Okero said the postponement was to give room for further considerations.

There could be likelihood that the government has its hand on this postponement in a bid to continue its crackdown on NRM leaders following the “swearing in” of Raila Odinga as the People’s President on 30th January, 2018.

The government has ignored court orders twice; in switching on of 3 major TV stations; Citizen TV, NTV and KTN and release of Miguna Miguna after his arrest.

The government went ahead and deported Miguna to Canada.

We are likely to see more moves by different bodies protesting against the government’s move to whip NRM supporters who had a hand in “swearing in” Raila Odinga as the People’s President.

However, the government may be unstoppable in its move and determination to scatter NRM and punish all its leaders.
