Kisii County leaders behind the so called Otamba declaration have continued to receive criticisms from Nyamira County leaders who are now asking President Uhuru to disown them.

A Nairobi-based lawyer and aspiring West Mugirango MP Steve Mogaka says forming political parties doesn't unite the community but instead the leaders should aim at offering services and helping the needy.

"The Omogusii unity is not about forming political parties, joining the government and or forming alliances. We ought to distinguish between political unity and Omogusii unity. Our unity entails coalescing together for a common goal but not limited to helping needy cases," said Mogaka.

He said Kisii leaders led by Senator Chris Obure are just but seeking political mileage from the State and so President Uhuru should disown them and realise that Gusiiland is not only for Kisii County and that there is no spokesman for the region.

"My divergence emanates from the real agenda. The leaders are after gaining mileage for political positions. I would proudly join and champion uniting the Omogusii to address our plight on poverty, poor state of roads and many other issues."

"As a lawyer, the Constitution allows for equal distribution of resources which enhances independence of regions irrespective of their party affiliations," added Mogaka.

The lawyer further noted that all Kenyans have equal opportunities in resources allocation from the government and it's not a must to be in the government to benefit.

"This disqualifies blatant sentiments made that we must join the government to get our share. All our Gusii MPs have us, I did expect that once elected they could come together as Omogusii and push for our agenda while in parliament whether they are in cord or jubilee but they ashamed us. Anybody speaking of unity outside parliament should rethink and tell voters the truth," said Mogaka.
