Flamboyant lawyer Donald Kipkorir has criticized Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua for taking credit for work his government did not do.
In a tweet on Saturday, the lawyer faulted Mutua for taking credit for repairing the Mto Wa Mawe Bridge that had been toppled by flood waters along Mombasa Road in Athi River, work done by Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA).
"When Athi River Bridge collapsed, Gov. Alfred Mutua went full blast on all his Social Media Channels claiming his Engineers are fixing the Bridge till KeNHA said it’s not true ... KeNHA fixed it .. Have said many times that Mutua is a charlatan ... He has no regard for the Truth," tweeted Kipkorir.
On Thursday, however, Mutua advised the public to avoid the Joska-Kamulu Bridge which had been cut off by flood waters after River Athi broke its banks due to the ongoing heavy rains. He said his county engineers were busy working on it.
"ALERT: The Joska - Kamulu bridge has just been washed off by the River Athi, cutting off Kangundo road. Those trying to use the road from Nairobi or Machakos should turn back. Our engineers on Mombasa road are busy repairing the Mto ya Mawe Bridge so that we can open the road," read Mutua's Thursday tweet.
