A city based lawyer Job Nyasimi Momanyi has dismissed claims that he has quit the race for Nyamira governor to become running mate to West Mugirango MP James Gesami who is also eyeing the top county's seat.
Nyasimi told this writer that claims that he has shelved his ambitions are aimed at tainting his image. He added that his candidature is fast gaining popularity.
“I am not ready to deputise anybody. I will go to the race and I have confidence that we will win. The rumours going round that I have agreed to be the running mate of Dr Gesami are just mere propaganda. In 2013 I was in the race and now I'm still in the race, “ Nyasimi added.
“ The people of Nyamira need a strong mind like Nyasimi to make things to work the way they are supposed to. Many have been in the political arena for long and their records are known and I think the residents are careful this time round not to make mistakes,” he stated.
However, Nyasimi denied claims that he is riding on the popularity of his uncle and former MP Nyarangi Moturi to gain political mileage.
