City lawyer and West Mugirango parliamentary hopeful Steve Mogaka joined other Kenyans in welcoming Appellate Judge David Maraga's nomination by the Judicial Service Commission for the Chief Justice post.
In a Facebook post published on his official page on Thursday, Mogaka described Justice Maraga as a bright and astute man who is able to take the Judiciary to the next level.
"I am happy that the Judicial Service Commission finally settled on Appellate Judge David Maraga as Kenya's next Chief Justice," the post read.
|An astute and sharp as a tack man. Truly deserves it. We wish him well in this new capacity of statewide leadership," he added.
Maraga, 66, was selected after trouncing a list of 13 candidates who applied to be the Chief Justice, who included Supreme Court Judges Smokin Wanjala and Jackton Ojwang'.
