Lawyer Cliff Ombeta now says that controversial eyewitness Dennis Muigai Mgengi could walk out free on his current accusations.

Speaking in an interview on NTV Sunday, Ombeta said that Ngengi who had allegedly masqueraded himself as a pilot, police officer and Jubilee representative in his 2 accident testimonies could be let loose as no information contradicting his claims has since been released.

''It is very easy for him to walk away from the allegations because despite identifying himself as a state pilot, police officer, and Team Uhuru campaigner, none of the mentioned entities has come out to deny him or give information proving otherwise.Until the police, pilots' associations and Jubilee come out to deny him, there is no case,'' said the lawyer.

He, however, said that Ngengi who was reportedly convicted 8 times in the past for criminal activities ranging from theft, impersonation and false pretense faces a major threat from his previous cases than the current one.

''There is no question about the previous cases because he was already convicted and charged and the cases can therefore proceed,'' said Ombeta.

''Ngengi hit the spotlight last week after witnessing two different incidents in different locations, one involving a Jubilee campaign team at the Lake Nakuru Park and the other involving departed Nyeri governor Wahome Gakuru, attracting attention from the law enforcers and was on Thursday arrested in Ruiru on Inspector General Joseph Boinnet's orders.
